How To Win The Lottery
While there may be many
easier ways to try and amass a fortune and to ensure that you are taken care of
come retirement, playing the lottery still represents one of the most enjoyable
and in many cases most sociable activities of your typical week. We all realize
that the odds are very significant, but we are also aware of the old adage that
“you've got to play to win.” In some societies, playing the lottery is something
that is almost expected of you. It is a pastime that has its time and place in
your schedule and just seems like the right thing to do. In fact, in countries
such as Spain, up to 95% of the population play lottery, even if it is only once
a year during the massive “El Gordo” lottery, for example.
While the thrill of the chase represents a big part of the attraction to many
people, winning the lottery is nevertheless a fervent dream. Many people have
racked their brains over the years and come up with a solution or some kind of
strategy to help them get closer to the big one, but the massive success of
these games when viewed from an overall perspective is testament to the fact
that it is not so easy to take a shortcut.
One of the best things that you can do to significantly shorten the odds of
winning is to join a syndicate. These are groups of, typically, 49 people who
join with you to purchase a block of tickets. Typically, each one of the “bonus”
balls is covered in this way and thus you only have to match five winning
numbers instead of the traditional six. This makes a very significant difference
and in some countries it is estimated that up to one in four jackpots go to
lottery syndicates.
If you want to know how to win the lottery, you should listen to those experts
who advise you to be as random as you possibly can be and to be aware that the
odds can change significantly from week to week.
Certain numbers are very heavily trafficked, especially those that represent
days and months relating to birthdays or other special occasions. As you can
imagine, therefore, numbers up to 31 and numbers up to 12 representing days and
months should be generally avoided. If you are choosing numbers based on a
pattern which is not exactly specific to you, but only you might likely favour
for some reason, then the chances are that there are very many people doing the
same - and should you win, you will of course have to share and share alike.
While playing a lottery that is rolled over again and again is fun, note that
the odds of winning the lottery in some of the bigger games doesn't change when
the number of ticket buyers increases. Therefore, you should consider waiting
until the jackpot climbs to a higher amount, at a time when you’ve a better
chance of winning big.
I think we would all like to know how to win the lottery. Although this is not a
recommended way of trying to amass money for retirement, at least it allows you
to have a little fun along the way.
